Sheffield City Hall

A combination of 2255 step and floor mounted diffusers were utilised for the Microclimate air supply system at Sheffield City Hall. Critical sound levels, low velocity supply to seated occupants, and low pressure loss to the common floor void where essential to the success of this project. This was achieved by using DB-E and Q-SR diffusers, as also used at the Welsh Millennium Centre and Glyndebourne Opera House. The floor mounted diffusers installed in the Stalls allowed the seats to be removed to cater for standing spectators.

Spraybake

DW-VL type swivel jet nozzles were supplied to Spraybake, the UK's leading spray booth manufacturer, for its new high-performance automotive XP series of paint spray booths. The nozzles, fitted in two banks of five, are individually ducted and programmable to allow maximum flexibility in drying and curing, as well as superior efficiency.

Charles Hurst Renault/Nissan Showrooms, Boucher Road, Belfast

Both of the above showrooms required ventilation air to be supplied from a bulkhead at one end of the showroom only, and to be distributed evenly throughout the showrooms with resulting year round comfort conditions for both customers and employees. Gary Bennett of consultants Bennett Robertson Design, Belfast, designed a system using Krantz DW-VK Jet Nozzles to achieve the required maximum throw of 24m. Installed by Litton Group, the appearance of the nozzles was required to be in keeping with the architectural requirements of the building. Architects John Neill Partnership not only approved the visual appearance of the system, but have been impressed by the nozzles capability to provide efficient coverage of the area from the single supply bulkhead, leaving the ceiling area free from ventilation ductwork.

AWE Aldermaston

Krantz have provided a special solution for dealing with hazards associated with plasma arc cutting in the decommissioning of radioactive facilities at AWE Aldermaston. The Krantz equipment provides very high performance of filtration and system integrity that the hostile environment demands. A unique Hepa filter element, cleanable by use of compressed air and providing a life cycle in excess of 25,000 cleaning operations, removes the requirement for regular filter changes. The use of the mobile on line re-cleanable filter unit has enabled plasma arc cutting to be used, offering environmentally friendly approach by: 1.) Significantly reducing the radiation dose of the decommissioning operations. 2.) Giving rise to huge savings in the quantity of radioactive waste produced. 3.) Making possible very significant savings in time and energy and hence cost.

'TATU' Bar & Grill, Belfast

TATU has recently won a prestigious All-Ireland design award for it's spectacular interior design. Not something you would normally associate with air distribution. The Krantz DW-VL jet nozzles are the architectural feature that dominate the bar area, not only providing the bar and restaurant with a conditioned draught free environment, but also giving immediate visual impact for anyone walking past the outside of the building.

The Triangle Shopping Centre, Raddisson Hotel & Boots Store, Manchester

High throws and low noise levels were achievable at the above projects. Using variations of the Krantz Linear Whirl Outlet, positioned in the Bulkheads. The WL range has become increasingly popular with clients requiring discreet air distribution systems.

Scottish & Newcastle HQ, Edinburgh

Ceiling Twist Outlets with perforated face plates and integrated into the light fittings were used at the Scottish & Newcastle head quarters in Edinburgh. These diffusers gave a stunning visual effect as well as providing draught free, conditioned air.

Watford Springs Swimming Pool

High induction Variable Twist Outlets type DD-VK were used at Watford Springs Swimming Pool. The appearance of 'giant flowers' was the preferred choice of the client. This was achievable giving striking aesthetics without compromising the overall performance.
